PEDIATRIC ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT AHA 2020 GUIDELINES

The American heart Association-accredited Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course reinforces an innovative and systematic approach to pediatric assessment, effective resuscitation, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, and team dynamics through various videos and simulated pediatric emergencies showcased by an instructor. This class aims to provide superior care to seriously injured or ill children, directing the team’s efforts toward improved outcomes. It’s important to know that the PALS course has recently been updated with the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for ECC and CPR.

WHO ARE THE COURSES FOR?

Healthcare providers who directly or indirectly manage respiratory and/or cardiovascular emergencies as well as cardiopulmonary arrests in pediatric patients. This course may also aid medical personnel working in emergency medicine, nursing, physician assisting, intensive care, emergency response, pharmacy, paramedical assistance, respiratory therapy, nurse practice, and other critical care units.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Post-cardiac arrest care
  • Identification and proper management of arrhythmias, and this includes electrical therapy
  • Basic child and infant life support skills
  • Identification and proper management of shock, and this includes vascular access
  • Identification and proper management of respiratory failure and other distresses, including airway management
  • Identification and proper management of cardiac arrest
  • A systematic approach to analyze and treat seriously ill or injured infants and children
